Saturday 11th September

63 Miles, 4 hours 42 minutes.

Weather: Dry, cloudy and warm

Accommodation: Ernie and Kathy Blythe

Detoured 63 miles inland today to visit Richard Cox House in Royston - the care home where Mum sent the last year of her life. I had promised her I would come to visit on the return leg and then decided, even ni her absence, to still do so to tahnk her carers for everything they had done and appreciated Jacqui (Manager), Marion and Jill (Care Team Managers) being there on my arrival to great me.

Stayed the night with Ernie and Kathy (Mum's next door neighbours) - it was good to see them again and on a happier occassion (the last, had sadly been my Mum's funeral!).

The ride itself was a bit of a struggle (undulating route with the wind against) and devoid of much scenery (all agricultural land) although I did pass through several picturesque country villages en route.
Starting to worry about nasty insect bite on left leg and possible infection. Last time it meant antibiotics and NO cycling for 2 weeks. Hopefully, just paranoia!
