Friday 10th September

82 Miles, 6 hours 04 minutes.

Weather: Cold/cloudy/rain - Warmer/brighter later

Accommodation: Carlton Hotel

Local press (Great Yarmouth Mercury) didn't turn up at the Britannia Pier for photo call but Helen Moss and Alex Ivy (local dementia support workers) did and kindly took photo's.

Miserable start to the ride in terms of weather and just seemed to generally lack enthusiasm all day. However, I did enjoy reaching 4,500 miles at Lowestoft and visiting the coast at Aldeburgh and particularly Southwold where I cycled passed the Adnams Sole Bay Brewery and stopped off to look at the pier and beach huts lining the promenade (a very traditional seaside resort). Otherwise the ride was fairly uneventful - the road undulated a lot there and there was unfortunately little to take in scenery wise.
