Day 64 Buckie to Peterhead

Thursday 26th of August. 66 Miles, 5 hours 07 minutes.

Weather: Warm, dry and Sunny

Accommodation: Clifton House Hotel

Decidedly lacking in enthusiasm today despite the good weather and great scenery – my legs just simply didn’t want to know. The route was certainly a lot hillier today including a couple of real ‘steepies’ in and around Pennan. Passed through a number of picturesque fishing towns/villages but top of the list was definitely Pennan where I lunched – not least because it featured as one of the locations in one of my favourite films ‘Local Hero (1982)’ – the famous telephone box is still there.

A very big thank you to Drew and Carol Reid at the Clifton House Hotel in Peterhead for not only donating £35 and providing me with an evening meal, but also for organising on my behalf an interview with the local radio station ‘Waves FM’
