Day 60 Wick to Tain

Sunday 22nd of August, 93 miles, 6 hours 51 minutes.

Weather: Warm, Dry, Sunny spells

Accommodation: Dunbius Guest House

With a big mileage to cover was on the road by 7am. Thankfully, the wind had dropped and apart from the one big climb at Berriedale, the terrain was not too demanding. By the time I had stopped for lunch in Dornoch, I had covered two thirds of the mileage and reached my accommodation, just after 5pm. On the downside, for the first time on the trip I started to feel unwell (Start of a cold, I think) and this hampered and made for an uncomfortable ride. On the plus side, today was the first time in 3 weeks that I hadn’t needed to apply ‘Midge’ repellent- the east coast will hopefully prove to be a midge-free zone! I also passed the Glenmorangie distillery just short of Tain.
