Day 24 Menai Bridge - Heswall

Conwy Castle

Conwy Castle

Tuesday, June 29th.

Menai Bridge to Heswall, Cheshire. 80 Miles. Time - 5 hours 28 minutes.

Accommodation - Premier Inn.

After speaking to phil today he said "It is good to have my feet back on English soil!"

Phil is 10 miles north of his day target Chester, and stopping for the day with the possibilty of tomorrow being his rest day. When he next sets of he hopes to reach the others side of Liverpool.

Unavoidable late start (09:00am). Ride seemed slow and disjointed during the morning but in the afternoon beyond Abergele really picked up the pace and rhythm right through to Heswall. Nice touch to Phils day when he went into a petrol station, the cashier and a customer standing nearby both made donations voluntarily.

Big thanks to Helen Anderson (Crown Regular) for locating, negotiating discount and booking 2 nights accommodation in Heswall in advance of Phils arrival.
