Phil covered 74 miles today, but it was a hard slog, up hill a lot of the way. However the treat at the end of it was to stay at the very beautiful Imperial Hotel, part of the Barcelo Group. The stay was organised by main sponsor spabreak.

After gazing lustfully at the a la carte menu, Phil realised the pockets in his sole pair of lycra cycling shorts couldn't carry enough cash for such a sumptuous repaste. He had to mount the bike again and hobble across the cobbles into town to get a gruel pizza instead...

On return to his room, Phil, flumoxed by technology was unable to send us photos or any text and collapsed in pizza stained cycling gear onto the duvet and into the raptuous arms of Morpheus...
